Truth and Freedom - John 8

Freedom is a high value in our culture. We have fought and died for it, as our poppies remind us. Our passion for freedom, however, sometimes collides with the concept of absolute truth. Anyone who believes there is truth that must be accepted by all people is an enemy of freedom. How then should we understand Jesus when he says in John 8 that knowing the truth will set us free? Freedom does in fact rely on the truth and the truth of Christ liberates our souls.
