A Stones Throw - May 4, 2008 AM
Dave Marttunen
After his anointing, we next meet David visiting his older brothers who are part of Israel’s army. David’s big question for Israel, and us, is simple; “Why is no one fighting the giant?” We follow David’s reasoning in the chapter: ”If this is God’s battle, and He has already given us other successes (in David’s case, he defeated a bear and a lion who were marauding his sheep), aren’t giants just different versions of the same thing?” What are the giants of our day? Why are we waiting? What does God want us to do in His strength? What holds us back? Today we explore this epic battle with the intention of hearing God’s voice and engaging our giants in His strength.
