Lay Down Your Sword - June 8, 2008 AM

Vengeance and justice are close allies. Justice is willing to wait; vengeance is over-eager to act. Justice puts the sword in God’s hand; vengeance keeps the sword in our own hands. Today we will watch a wise woman disarm David so that God will be glorified in his life. The call from God’s word to all of us is to lay down our cry for vengeance and to wait for God’s plan for our justice. Justice on every personal level belongs to God and it is a mark of the maturing disciple to leave the sword of justice in the hand of God.
