Our is the God of hope. He holds out to us the promise of a future which through relationship with Him empowers us to live in the present. Our world lacks hope. It controls little and battles much. It cannot predict behaviour or modify nature with positive result. People broken in life inherit an earth broken by neglect, greed and cruelty. Tonight Pastor Dave will teach us from John 16 that God the Holy Spirit is the agent of our hope. It is the Holy Spirit who empowers us to hope... As Paul prayed, "Now, may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13.
