Pressing on the Upward Way
October 19, 2008
David Dawson
Although it is not a significant feast for Christians, this week in the Hebrew calendar marks the feast of Tabernacles. This is one of the three main feasts which included a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. This morning we will be considering some of the Psalms of Ascent, songs which were sung as ancient pilgrims moved upward to Jerusalem and songs which we can sing as we move upward towards God and draw near to Him. My challenge to you this morning is to rekindle your desire to ascend, to press onward and upward closer to God. I invite you to hear the voice of God in these Psalms beckoning you to a closer walk with Him.
