The second stop on our tour of the Old Testament takes us to Abraham. The most significant thing about Abraham is that God made a very specific promise to him and Abraham believed God. The story of Abraham gives us a very clear picture of the role of grace and faith in salvation. And beyond this modeling of faith in the promises of God, we see that the promises made to Abraham have a wide significance in the plan of salvation. While these promises seem to only have personal significance to Abraham, upon reflection we see that these promises find their fulfillment in Christ.
