As we continue to explore how God has worked out his plan of salvation in history, we come to the giving of the law. After God delivered the people of Israel from slavery in Egypt, he brought them to the foot of Mount Sinai, where Moses went up on the mountain to receive from God the stone tablets of the law. But what was God's purpose in giving the law? Was it intended as a pathway to salvation? Many of us do not have a clear understanding of why God gave the law to Israel and we have a lot of questions about the validity of the law for today. Tonight, we will come to a clearer understanding of how the law contributes to God's plan of salvation and how the role of the law has changed with the coming of Christ.
