In an era of western culture where a focus on self is so pervasive, how can the church proclaim and live the other-centered focus taught and lived out by Jesus? Of all people, Jesus had every right to feel entitled…he was the Son of God. Yet he gave up everything to save humanity. What shift in attitude could help us to reflect the example of Jesus spoken of in Philippians 2:5-11? “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who being in very nature God did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant.”
