The Incarnation of Jesus

The strongest idea among those thinking about the church is the trend towards emphasizing incarnation and mission. There is a sense that the church over the last few generations has become settled, isolated, and has lost some of its ability to influence the wider culture. There is a strong desire to follow the model of Christ as we engage our culture with the gospel. This morning we will celebrate how Christ was willing to empty himself so that we could be filled. As we ponder the example of Christ’s incarnation, we will consider what it means to have a similar mindset as Christ.
