Playing Nice in a Naughty World

When the Bible uses the term 'world', it consistently refers to the broken and bound since Adam's fall. The world is in alignment with all that resists and resents God's rule. It is also the object of God's affection and redemption. The world is our temporary home. The Christian is a citizen of Heaven but a resident in the world. How we are to live as ambassadors of the new order, but residents in the broken mess of now, is the conclusion of Romans 12. We are to live as those who have been 'mercied' by God. We are agents, messengers, examples of hope. We can live above the mess as we choose to God's ways above our natural ways.
