When we read narrative accounts in the Bible, we are confronted with a choice. Are these accounts historically descriptive; that is, do they tell the reader what happened then and there? Or are they, along with the description of the story, to some extent, prescriptive; that is, the account informs us what will, could, or should happen in our lives today? Our view, or interpretation of this chapter, has sharply divide Churches in our day over their teaching on the Holy Spirit.
